Current events for Teens 13 to 17

Great news for teenagers - they haven't been forgotten in all the excitement of events for little kids. Teens aged 13 to 17 who are looking for fun stuff to do in September, can take their pick from these free library events:

  • Chill out. Exams, jobs, relationships, family - all these things, and more, could be causing you stress. Local instructor Lee Car, is running a special session for teens to learn meditation and yoga to de-stress. Helensvale Branch Library, Thursday 6 September, 5.30pm - 6.15pm.   • Reboot your brain at Nerang Branch Library with this regular dose of gaming, manga, and fun, 3.30pm - 5pm, on Fridays 7 and 21 September. Please phone (07) 5581 7180 to book, or just rock up.
  • If life is looking too serious lately, you need a laughter-noon. Share crafts, play games and have fun at Elanora Branch Library on Thursday 13 September, 3.30pm - 4.30pm. Book in for the fun by phoning (07) 5581 1671.
  • 13 September is Roald Dahl Day and, as anyone who has read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory knows, Dahl loved chocolate. Use some delicious Dahlian inspiration to decorate cupcakes with local cupcake queen, Tash Murphy, at Southport Branch Library on Thursday 13 September, 4pm - 5.30pm.   • Henna tattoos are a gorgeous temporary body decoration. Elizabeth from Henna Oasis will be at Helensvale Branch Library on Thursday 20 September, 4.30pm - 6pm, to show teens this timeless body art. Book your spot by phoning (07) 5581 1625.
  • Teens who love learning new crafts can get together and swap ideas and skills at the fun crafternoon workshops at Robina Branch Library. Phone (07) 5581 1600 to book your place, and put it in your diary now - it's on Wednesday 26 September, 3.30pm - 4.30pm.
  • Sometimes you just want to turn up the music. Get Loud in the Library at Elanora Branch Library on Friday 28 September, 6pm - 7.30pm. It's for teens only, and a great chance for music, gaming, and just hanging out with your friends.
