2012 Online Literature Festival

Presented in partnership between Education Queensland and the State Library of Queensland, the festival will run from 27th August to 7 September 2012.

The Online Literature Festival provides opportunities for Queensland students to access and learn from some of their favourite authors.

Andy Griffiths, John Boyne, Jackie French, and Anita Heiss are some of the exciting authors presenting during the Online Literature Festival in 2012.

Whether you’re studying a specific book in class or you’re keen to learn more about writing, drawing, filmmaking, and digital storytelling, the Online Literature Festival has something for everyone.

Teachers may also access dedicated professional development sessions with authors after school.
Registrations are open now. Find out more information on the Online Literature Festival website.

National Year of Reading - The Reading Hour

NYR begin their 30 day count down today to The Reading Hour which will be happening around the country on Saturday 25 August.
"The Reading Hour is both a focal point for the National Year of Reading 2012 and also a call to action for families – share a book with your child for 10 minutes a day, an hour a week. The Reading Hour is nominally 6pm to 7pm on 25 August, but events will be happening at different times during the day, and in some cases during the week before and after."
