We know that some of you out there will be dreading the coming holidays because you'll be missing school so much! Right? Well if you're hard up for ways to have fun and stay busy then you can check out the State Library of Queensland's site. They have a program of activities for young people over the holiday break that might be of interest to you.

Australian Poetry Slam

Queensland workshops for the Australian Poetry Slam are happening soon. Workshops will be held in Brisbane on the 8th of September, just up the road at Logan on the 17th and in the Moreton Bay region on the 20th. The workshops help you develop your performance and stage technique, and provide you with hands-on experience in slamming. They include fun and dynamic group writing and performance exercises using a live microphone.
Workshops are free, but bookings are required. At some venues, there are dedicated youth workshops ideal for ages 12 to 18. Phone: +61 7 3840 7424 or email
